coffee table inspiration

I'm about to wrap up a couple DIY furniture projects, and am now looking to accessorize. I am on the hunt for a good coffee table book or two. I would love something with dreamy pictures for guests to scan through. Any suggestions?

I currently have this book, and am planning to make a wedding album (long overdo). Wouldn't it be awesome if Kinfolk had a coffee table book?!

P.S. some DIY coffee tables, and a cute idea for a game table.

what's the best name for a pet that you've ever heard?

Andrew seems to have a not-so-secret admirer. No matter how many times he tells this cat to go away ("Ale, chat!"), she still wants to give him some love ;) Her name is Mimi... and apparently so is every other cat's name in Haiti. We were informed the other day that when a cat doesn't have a real name, everyone just calls it "Mimi" because of their constant meow. Ha!

Today we are on the hunt for a working ATM. The majority of the ATM's are owned by one major bank- so one doesn't work, none of them work. And this always seems to happen when we only have about $20 cash left in our wallet... yikes!

Yesterday my dad informed me that we have 26 days left until we come home for our first visit. I've literally had more than one dream of visiting Chick-Fil-A, so it's a good thing that number is finally less than 30 :) I have a few posts about our trip to Anse-a-Pitres lined up, starting tomorrow... so stay tuned!

coffee shops make the world go round

We got word that there is an upscale coffee shop in Petionville. So yesterday, we boarded a tap-tap and rode the 10 gourds worth up to PV-- and found a coffee shop!!!

It's called Rebo Expresso, and had A/C, wifi, and toilets that flush! We felt so fancy, and like normal people again. Isn't it pretty?!

I got to FaceTime with my momma, and we caught up on emails while Andrew enjoyed a $1.00 (40 gourds) cup of coffee :)

We left with lifted spirits, feeling like we were back at Walker's in Athens like old times.
