back from the beach

Last week, Andrew and I spent several days at the beach in Southport, North Carolina. His grandparents, who live in Southport, left us their home to ourselves while they toured Russia. Here are some pictures below, if you'd like to see...

We lounged on the beach almost every day, soaking up sun and getting lost in our books. 

We went to dinner on the water and hung out on the pier while waiting for our table. They go by the honor system and encourage you to grab a beer or other drink while you wait- you don't pay until the end of your meal. Although, we just settled for water ;)

After dinner, we went for a walk on the bay and enjoyed the sunset as the light bounced off the blue water. 

We also went Kayaking one morning, complete with a pit stop on a near by island and a walking tour.

And what beach trip is complete without a sunset over the ocean?

And silly photo shoots while watching said sunsets are always bound to happen...

Our trip ended with a phone call from this beautiful new person- who we got to officially meet on our way home on Friday. We are smitten!

With a wedding this past Saturday and Andrew starting his first day of work yesterday, we are already back in full swing! Until our next vacation...
